In 2005, the Mid-Atlantic ATTC developed a DVD designed to help professionals working with older adults recognize substance use disorders. This resource was developed in collaboration with the Mountain State, Pennsylvania, Western Reserve and Virginia Geriatric Education Centers and the Veteran’s Administration Employee Education System. Three one-hour modules cover topics such as prevention, assessment, diagnosing substance abuse and treatment options. It was originally broadcast nationally with a live call-in component after each module.
