Identification and classification of narcotics, depressants, hallucinogens, stimulants, cannabis; physiological, behavioral, and psychological effects of various drugs and risk factors.

Introduction and overview of counseling theories and basic techniques (online).

VP009 Group Counseling – February 13-15, 2007

Group principles and practice, the interrelationship of individual and group counseling, definitions of group roles and stages of group process, open and closed groups, relationship of counselor to group members and vice versa. To include other adjunctive treatment and recovery support groups and client education.
